Thang-ga Painting is a unique form of painting art in Tibetan culture. Traditionally, pigments are made entirely of precious mineral gemstones such as gold, silver, pearls, agate, coral, turquoise, malachite, cinnabar, and plants such as saffron, rhubarb, and indigo to symbolize their sanctity.

Bodhisattva Tara (Green Tara) is the incarnation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Like Avalokiteshvara, she is a compassionate, succouring deity who helps men “cross to the other shore.” She is the protectress of navigation and earthly travel, as well as of spiritual travel along the path to enlightenment.
